The secret to a more comfortable bath post: Paper towels

We all know how much it feels to get wet, and for many people the process is a chore, but there are ways to make the process a little easier, and we’ve rounded up a few.

1.

Use the right kind of paper.

“A lot of people have problems with the way that paper towels come out, because of the chemical way they’re made,” explains Susan Johnson, a freelance writer and the author of Paper Towels For Dummies.

She recommends the brand that comes with the towel to use.

“If you’re using a paper towel that’s actually a very good quality, you’ll end up with a really nice, clear, shiny towel.

But if it’s not good quality or if you’re not using a lot of paper, then you’re going to end up getting a mess,” she says.

If you use a paper towels that are made of synthetic fibres, you might want to consider choosing a non-nano, organic paper towel.

2.

Take the time to read the instructions.

A lot can be learned by reading the instructions on the towel you buy.

For example, if you plan on washing your hands after each use, it’s wise to take the time and read the directions for the paper towel you plan to use, too.

3.

Wash your hands before using the towel.

“You want to be able to touch the paper towels and not feel the towel,” says Johnson.

4.

Wrap your towel around your fingers.

It’s important to use a towel that is soft, and not so slippery that you can’t hold it up. 5.

Use a cloth towel to wrap around your hands.

“Wash your hands with soap and water, then put a towel over your hands and use a cloth to wrap them around your hand,” says Dina Zimring, a certified personal care therapist who specializes in personal care.

6.

Use a towel to wipe your hands dry.

Wipe your hands clean with a damp towel.

If you are not using soap, then just use a wet towel.

The towel is not waterproof, so you should avoid using it on a hot day, but it is better to use it when the water in the towel is hot enough to feel the fabric.

7.

Avoid using a cotton towel.

The paper towel made by the Australian company Tagg has a chemical coating that gives it a more natural feel.

8.

Use paper towels in the sink.

“There’s nothing better than using a towel on the toilet, so it’s a great option for the ladies,” says Zimrings.

“But if you have a sink that has a sink full of paper towels, you’re just going to have to use the paper,” she adds.

9.

Wash the towel before you put it in the dishwasher.

“I always use a cotton-topped paper towel when I wash dishes,” Johnson says.

“That way, I don’t have to worry about making the dishcloths too wet.”

10.

Don’t leave the towel in the fridge.

“It’s best to just take it out of the dish when you get home,” says Vicky Furlong, a licensed professional therapist in Toronto.

11.

Use cotton towels to clean your hair.

Some women may use cotton towels as a way to remove dead skin cells from their hair, and some may find that they feel a lot better after using a cloth-toed towel.

“You don’t want to leave your towel on your hair all day long,” says Dr. Michelle Furlings, a Registered Nurse and clinical psychologist.

“Instead, use a dry towel,” she suggests.

12.

Use an organic towel.

“A great way to get rid of dead skin is by using organic paper towels,” says Furlongs.

13.

Use clean paper towels.

While you’re washing, you may not have any problem with using the towels.

“Clean towels have an odor, so if you use them, it will be less of a hassle,” she explains.

14.

Wash with soap.

To clean up after a messy day at work, you want to use soap.

You can also try to get away with using a hand towel to wash your hands, but Johnson suggests using a clean, dry cloth towel.
